Saudipedia says it also serves the south of Saudi Arabia and anyone who comes that way. Yalamlam is the name of a large valley. Its floods start in the mountains south west of Taif and run west to the Red Sea. The old miqat site lies about 21 km from the mosque that people use today. That newer mosque stands at As-Sa'diyyah (also written Sadiyah), on the north bank of the valley, near an old well. Both lie in Al-Lith Governorate, a coastal area south of Jeddah. The mosque covers about 10,000 square metres and holds more than 4,000 people at prayer. It has a hall for visitors, washrooms and places for wudu, the washing before prayer.
