Car with driver by the hour
Some days do not fit into a single fixed route. You might want to visit a few places in Makkah without planning the exact order in advance, or keep a car with driver in Makkah on standby for a family with mixed plans. Umrah Online Taxi offers a car with driver by the hour in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah, booked for three hours or more, at a rate agreed before the clock starts. It works the same way as any other booking here: one fare, no meter, and payment to the driver once you are done.
How hourly hire works
You tell us the city, the date, roughly what you want to do, and how many hours you expect to need, with a minimum of three hours per booking. We send back the hourly rate for the vehicle you choose, and that rate does not change no matter how much traffic you hit or how many stops you make within the vehicle’s capacity. The driver stays with the car for the whole booking, so there is no waiting for a new vehicle between stops. If you go over the time you booked, the same hourly rate applies to the extra time, and the driver will tell you before it starts rather than after.

Whole vehicle, one direction unless return is marked. Hourly hire is booked for three hours or more. Pay the driver at the end, cash in SAR or bank transfer. No deposit, no card, no booking fee.
A three hour Camry booking, for example, comes to SAR 240 for the whole vehicle, and a five hour Staria booking comes to SAR 500. Fuel, tolls and parking are already in the hourly rate.
What the rate includes
The hourly rate covers the vehicle for your party only, the driver, fuel, tolls and parking, for as many stops as you make within the booked hours. Luggage or shopping up to the vehicle’s stated capacity travels at no extra charge. What is not included is a second vehicle if your group grows mid booking, or a booking cut so short it falls under the three hour minimum, since that minimum applies to every hourly hire regardless of vehicle. There is no Nusuk charge on hourly bookings, since that charge only applies to airport pick-up routes.
Which vehicle to hire
For an afternoon of shopping or visiting with two or three people, the Camry or Sonata at SAR 80 an hour is the cheapest way to keep a car on call. Families who want the driver to wait between several stops, with children or an older relative who tires from walking, often prefer the Staria or Yukon, since both give more room to rest between errands. If you are hosting visiting family or organising a group outing that does not follow a single fixed route, the Hiace or Coaster by the hour means one vehicle for the whole group rather than several separate taxis coming and going.
Where the driver meets you
Pick-up is your hotel lobby in whichever city you book, or another point you name, such as a specific area of Jeddah or Madinah. The booking starts from the time you agreed to meet, and the driver stays with the vehicle for the full period, stopping at several markets, waiting during a family visit, or simply on standby for the day without planning every stop in advance.
How to book by the hour
Message us with the city, the date, roughly how many hours you expect to need, and the vehicle you want. If your plans are loose, that is fine, tell us what you think and the driver will confirm the running total as the hours pass so there are no surprises. Payment is to the driver at the end of the booking, in cash or by bank transfer, the same as every other fare on this site.
Hourly hire compared with a fixed route
If you already know exactly where you are going and when, a fixed route fare like the ones on our routes and prices page is usually the cheaper option, since it is priced for a specific journey rather than open time. Hourly hire suits a day where the plan changes as you go, several short stops in one outing, or simply wanting a car on standby without booking and paying for each leg separately. Ride hailing apps can also be booked repeatedly through a day, though each trip is a separate booking with its own fare, rather than one driver and one running rate for the whole time.
Tips for hourly hire
Give a realistic estimate of the hours you need when you book, since the three hour minimum applies even to a shorter trip. If your plan includes prayer times, the driver will factor stops into the hours the same way he does on any longer journey. For a day that might run long, such as visiting several relatives or markets, it is worth booking a slightly larger block of hours than you think you need, since going under is simpler than adding time at short notice.
