Makkah taxi at fixed fares

Finding a Makkah taxi at the door of your hotel is easy. Getting one with a fare you agreed to before you got in is not, and that gap is where most pilgrims lose money and patience. Umrah Online Taxi books a private car and driver for you before you arrive, with the fare written down in a WhatsApp message you can hold the driver to. This page covers the short trips you will actually need in Makkah: the meeqat, the Haramain station, a ziyarat loop, a day trip to Taif, and a car by the hour if your plans are not fixed yet. Every fare below is for the whole vehicle, not per seat, whether one person rides or every seat is full.

How a Makkah taxi booking works here

You send the pick-up point, the drop-off, the date, and how many people and bags are travelling. A price comes back on WhatsApp within the hour, naming the vehicle and the fare. Nothing is taken from you at that point, because there is no deposit and no card payment anywhere in the process. The driver’s name and number reach you the day before, and he meets you at the time you agreed. At the end of the trip, you pay him directly in cash or by bank transfer. Ask for a receipt and you get one.

Makkah taxi fares by route and vehicle

These are the published fares for the routes people book most inside Makkah. All figures are in Saudi Riyal, for the whole vehicle, and cover the return journey where the table says so.

Camry and Sonata are the same class, 4 seats and 2 large cases plus 2 hand bags, and always the same fare. Staria and Yukon XL each seat 7, with 6 large cases plus 4 hand bags. Hiace seats 11 with 10 large plus 10 hand, Coaster seats 19 with 15 large plus hand bags in the racks, and the Coach seats 44 with 1 large and 1 hand bag per seat. Large cases are 23 kg, with every seat taken. Fuel, tolls, parking and luggage within capacity are already in every fare above, and nothing is added for a night pick-up.

Where the driver meets you

For every route on this page, pick-up is your hotel lobby unless you tell us otherwise. If you are staying near Ajyad, Jabal Omar, Ibrahim Al Khalil Street or further out toward Aziziyah, the driver comes to the entrance you name and calls or messages you when he is outside. Vehicles are restricted close to the Haram itself at prayer times, so on the last stretch the driver takes the nearest approach that is open and you walk the rest, which is usually only a few minutes.

Which vehicle suits your trip

A couple or a small family with light bags is usually best in the Camry or Sonata, which is the cheapest option on every route above. Families of four or five with cases do better in the Staria, which has sliding doors and more boot space than the fare difference suggests. If you are travelling with an elderly parent, the Yukon XL sits higher off the ground and is easier to climb into than a minivan. Groups of nine to eleven fit the Hiace without anyone on a folding seat, and once you pass twelve people the Coaster is quoted as one fare instead of splitting the group across two cars. Whichever vehicle you choose, a child seat is included at no charge if you tell us the child’s age when you book.

What is in the fare and what is not

Every fare on this page includes the vehicle for your party only, the driver, fuel, tolls, parking, and luggage up to the vehicle’s stated capacity. Waiting time at the meeqat or during a ziyarat stop within the times listed above is also included. What is charged separately is a stop you add on the day, waiting beyond the agreed time at the hourly rate, and a second vehicle if your group grows after you book. There is no Nusuk charge on any of the routes on this page, because that charge only applies to pick-ups that start at Jeddah or Madinah airport.

How far these trips are

Masjid Ayesha at Tan’eem, the nearest point outside the Haram boundary, is about 15 km round trip and takes 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 including the time you spend there. Taif is about 90 km each way up the Al Hada mountain road, 1 hour 30 in each direction, so a return trip is a full day out rather than a quick errand.

How to book a Makkah taxi

Message the WhatsApp number below with your hotel name or area, the trip you want, the date, and the number of people and bags. If you are entering ihram at a miqat, say so and the driver will wait while you change and pray. If you want the Makkah ziyarat loop or a day at Taif, tell us the time you want to leave and we will suggest a route that avoids the busiest hours. A price comes back the same day, usually within the hour, and you only pay once the trip is finished.

Makkah taxi compared with other ways to get around

If you use a ride hailing app, the fare is set by the app at the time of the trip rather than agreed in writing beforehand. A metered street taxi in Makkah exists but is harder to find near the Haram at busy hours, and the price is agreed at the door rather than in writing beforehand. A private booking like this one gives you a fare in writing before you travel, a driver who already knows the meeqat and ziyarat stops, and one vehicle that stays with your party for the whole trip rather than a queue for the next available car. We do not publish what other services charge, only what ours does.

A few things worth knowing before you go

Masjid Ayesha and the routes near the Haram are busiest after Isha, so if your schedule is flexible, mid morning is calmer. Wudu facilities exist at the meeqat but they get crowded, so doing it at your hotel first saves time. If you are carrying Zamzam containers on the way back from a trip, mention how many so the driver can plan the boot space. For a day at Taif, dress for a cooler climate than Makkah, since the mountain road gains enough height to change the weather noticeably.
