Madinah taxi at fixed fares

A Madinah taxi that turns up on time and costs what it said it would is a smaller thing to ask for than it sounds. Umrah Online Taxi arranges a private car and driver for your stay, with the fare agreed in writing on WhatsApp before you travel, so there is nothing to negotiate at the door. This page covers the trips people book most in Madinah: the airport run, the Haramain station, a ziyarat loop that can include Wadi Jinn, and the road on to Makkah or Jeddah when you are ready to move. Every fare is for the whole vehicle, one price for a solo traveller or a whole family together.

Booking a Madinah taxi step by step

Tell us where you are, where you are going, the date, and how many people and bags are with you. A fare comes back on WhatsApp, usually within the hour, naming the vehicle and the full price. You are not asked for a deposit or a card at any point. The day before your trip, you get the driver’s name and number, and he meets you at the agreed time and place. Payment is at the end, in cash or by bank transfer, directly to the driver.

Madinah taxi fares by route and vehicle

All figures are in Saudi Riyal, for the whole vehicle, and cover the return leg where the table shows it.

Camry and Sonata seat 4 with 2 large cases plus 2 hand bags. Staria seats 7 with 6 large cases plus 4 hand bags, Yukon XL seats 7 with 6 large plus 4 hand, Hiace seats 11 with 10 large plus 10 hand, Coaster seats 19 with 15 large plus hand bags in the racks, and the Coach seats 44 with 1 large and 1 hand bag per seat. Large cases are 23 kg, with every seat taken. Fuel, tolls, parking and luggage within these limits are already in the fare, and there is no charge for a late night landing.

Where the driver meets you

For airport pick-ups the driver waits inside the arrivals hall, past baggage reclaim, holding a board with your name, not out in the car park. For every other trip on this page, pick-up is your hotel lobby unless you name another point, such as Markaziyah or the Quba district. Close to Masjid an-Nabawi, vehicles cannot always pull right up to the entrance during prayer times, so the driver takes the closest approach that is open and the last stretch is a short walk.

Which vehicle suits your trip

For the airport run or a short hop to the station, the Camry or Sonata is usually enough for two people with normal luggage. Families with children and more bags are more comfortable in the Staria, which has sliding doors that make loading easier at a busy arrivals curb. If an elderly relative is travelling, the Yukon XL’s higher seat position helps more than the extra fare costs. Groups of six or seven fit the Staria, and groups of up to eleven fit the Hiace, without anyone folding into a jump seat, and for a full ziyarat group of twelve or more the Coaster is quoted as a single fare rather than two vehicles.

What is in the fare and what is not

Every fare above covers the vehicle for your party only, the driver, fuel, tolls, parking, and luggage up to the stated capacity. Waiting while your flight lands is included at no extra cost, however long customs takes. What is not included is a stop added on the day, waiting beyond the agreed time once you are off the airport clock, and a second vehicle if more people join than you originally booked for. The Madinah Airport pick-up carries a Nusuk charge, shown separately from the fare rather than folded into it. The hotel to airport direction and the in-city trips on this page do not carry that charge.

How far these trips are

Madinah’s own airport sits close to the city, and the run to a central hotel usually takes 20 to 35 minutes. The two hour Madinah ziyarat covers Jannat al-Baqi and the mosques near the Haram, then Quba, Qiblatain, Uhud and the seven mosques, about 30 km round trip. The four hour full ziyarat adds more places and longer stops. If you are continuing to Makkah or Jeddah from Madinah, see the routes and prices page for those fares and journey times.

How to book a Madinah taxi

Message the number below with your flight details if you are landing, or your pick-up point and destination if you are already in the city. Include the date, how many of you there are, and how many bags. If you want Wadi Jinn added to your ziyarat, say so when you book and the driver plans the loop to include it. A fare comes back the same day, and you settle it with the driver only once the trip is done.

Madinah taxi compared with other ways to get around

If you use a ride hailing app, the driver and vehicle are not confirmed until the moment you book, and the fare is set by the app at the time. A metered taxi picked up on the street is another option, but near Masjid an-Nabawi at busy hours you may wait for one to appear, and the fare is agreed only once you are already in the car. Booking ahead means the price is fixed before you travel and the same driver stays with you for the whole trip, including any stops for prayer or photographs along the way. We publish only our own fares here, not what any other operator charges.

A few things worth knowing before you go

Quba is quietest in the first hour after sunrise, before the car park fills for the day, which is why we usually suggest an early start for the ziyarat tour. A folding wheelchair travels in the Staria or Hiace boot at no extra charge, and the driver helps the passenger into a seat. Tell us before booking if the passenger cannot leave the wheelchair. Ladies-only groups can ask for a driver who waits with the vehicle at every stop rather than joining the group. If you are flying onward from Jeddah rather than Madinah, tell us early so we can plan the road journey around your departure time.
